STATEMENT OF FAITH

Bible:  We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 6:18).

God:  We believe that there is one living and true God, creator of all things and existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (I John 5:7).

Man:  We believe that man was created in the image of God. Through Adam, sin and death entered the world and passed upon all men (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 5:12-19).

Salvation:  We believe that the fall of mankind brought the penalty of physical and spiritual death in hell. Therefore, we must come to repentance toward God and faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. We must believe that Jesus paid the price for our sins by being the perfect sacrifice and shedding His blood for the forgiveness of our sins (Romans 5:8; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Peter 1:18-20).

Holy Spirit:  We believe in the infilling of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.(Acts 2:4).

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A CHRISTIAN

To be a Christian means to have a new life in Jesus Christ and to have a personal relationship with Him. The word “Christian” means “Follower of Christ.”  To live for Jesus we must maintain our  connection with Him. We do this by studying His Word, by worshiping Him, and by praying to Him. Jesus tells us in Luke 10:27 to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.  We present our bodies to Him as a living sacrifice and become conformed to his will, transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:1-2).

Jesus Christ came to earth as a man and He died for our sins. He took our place on the cross, so that we would not have to pay the penalty we deserve. It means confessing our sins and trusting Jesus as our Lord and Savior.  Because of what Jesus did, we have the power to live for Him on this earth (John 1:12), and the privilege of living with Him for eternity in heaven (John 3:16).

It means receiving Jesus as our Lord and Savior and being born-again by the Spirit of God. Here is a prayer to ask Jesus into your life:

Dear Jesus, I come to You as a sinner. You said in Your Word, “...him that cometh to Me. I will in no wise cast out:” (John 6:37). So I ask You now to take me in, and I thank You for it.  You said in Your Word, “...If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,  and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, THOU SHALT BE SAVED...For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved”: (Romans 10:9-13).  I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe He was raised from the dead. I do believe with my heart and I confess Jesus now as my Lord. I AM SAVED! Thank you JESUS!

Hebrews 10:25 tells us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together, meaning not to forsake going to church and fellowship with other believers.  We are also told in Mark 16:16-18 to tell others about Jesus, preach the Gospel, and to do the works of Jesus on this earth.

Being a Christian is a life of faith, accepting and receiving everything He has done for us so that we will be able to live for Him on this earth, and live with him for all eternity in heaven.
